As of 3.27.18 , our discord now has Sea of Thieves assignable role and text channel! If you play Sea of Thieves or wish to join the games text chat channel on our Discord, head to our #role-assignment channel and do a .iam Sea of Thieves to be assigned the role and have access to the role specific chat channel!

Players on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC can both snap up Sea of Thieves for free while it is a part of the Xbox Game Pass catalogue. The process of signing up for Xbox Game Pass and downloading Sea of Thieves is an easy enough process.

On Xbox One:

  1. Sign-in to your Xbox Live account
  2. Navigate to the Store tab
  3. Scroll down and select Memberships
  4. Scroll down and select Xbox Game Pass
  5. Set the first box to Xbox Game Pass 14-Day Free Trial Free
  6. Select Join on the second box
  7. Input your credit card details
  8. Click Subscribe
  9. Search for Sea of Thieves in the Store
  10. Click Install


On Windows 10 PC:

  1. Sign-in to your Microsoft account
  2. Open the Microsoft Store
  3. Type Xbox Game Pass in the search bar and click the pop-up
  4. Set the first box to Xbox Game Pass 14-Day Free Trial Free
  5. Select Join on the second box
  6. Input your credit card details
  7. Click Subscribe
  8. Search for Sea of Thieves in the Microsoft Store
  9. Click Install

Before you get started, if you’re playing on Xbox One, you will definitely need to have an Xbox Live Gold subscription to be able to play Sea of Thieves online. Finding the Xbox Game Pass can be a bit odd, as it’s not a game so it can’t be easily searched in the Store. You will need to find the Membership section either through your Games & Apps or via the Store front. Despite it being a free trial, you will still need to input a credit card number, just remember to cancel it after the 2-week trial or you will be billed for the following month. (Source)
